Product Overview

The CB series SMD Film Capacitor using a stacked and naked construction with metallised polyethylene naphthalate (PEN). Available in case sizes from 1206 to 6054 and capacitance values up to 4.7uF. It is suitable for applications with voltage requirement below 630V and where SMD is mandatory. The self-healing property of the PEN film provides an open failure mode with increased overall reliability. The PEN film capacitors provide low DC bias, low dielectric absorption similar to NPO multilayer ceramic capacitors but are able to provide increased capacitance values similar to X7R ceramic capacitors. The PEN capacitors exhibit excellent thermal shock resistance. Use of high temperature dielectric film (PEN) makes these capacitors suitable for IR or vapour phase reflow. The intrinsic elasticity of the dielectric film allows an excellent compatibility of the capacitor with all types of material for printed circuit boards.
