RoHS Compliance and REACH Information

RoHS Compliance Statements

RoHS StatementFarnell’s policy is only to designate a product as RoHS compliant when we are confident that the product is fully compliant. We use a simple “Yes” and “No” designation on our web site and the meaning of these designations is as follows:

RoHS Compliant YES RoHS Yes

Based on information provided by our suppliers, this product does NOT contain the substances restricted by the RoHS legislation at levels over the maximum concentration values.

RoHS Compliant by Exemption Y-Ex RoHS Yes

Products where our supplier has confirmed that the product qualifies for one of the specific exemptions set out in the Annex to the RoHS Directive.

RoHS Compliant NO RoHS No

Based on information provided by our suppliers, this product contains the substances restricted by the RoHS legislation at levels over the maximum concentration values.

No RoHS Designation

Products that are outside the scope of the RoHS legislation and products for which we do not have enough information from our suppliers to confidently confirm their RoHS compliance status have no designation on our web site. Customers that wish to purchase a RoHS compliant version of any product that is not designated as RoHS compliant YES should contact our sales office or check available alternatives on our web site as we may be able to provide a suitable product from our extensive range.

REACH Information

SVHC LogoWe are proactively collecting data from our suppliers on the presence of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) in their products. Where the supplier confirms that a product contains an SVHC above the threshold level of 0.1% by weight, that fact is highlighted against the relevant product, the SVHC is identified and the material safety data sheet and safe use information is provided for our customers.

Where the supplier has confirmed that a product does not contain any SVHC above the threshold level, that product is marked as “SVHC no” along with the date at which this statement is made. Where new SVHCs have been added after the date referred to in respect of a product, we are not able to confirm the absence of the additional SVHCs until we have an updated confirmation from the supplier.

Where a product has neither designation, this indicates that we have yet to receive confirmation from the supplier of whether or not the product contains an SVHC above the threshold level. This position will be updated as soon as the information is provided by the supplier.

In addition, Farnell now offers an automated safety data sheet service. Whenever any customer places an order for a product which contains any one of the current REACH Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs), a product safety datasheet is automatically emailed to them along with their order acknowledgement. In addition, if there are any subsequent changes to the product safety datasheet, the most up-to-date version will be automatically emailed to any customer who has ordered the related product within the last 12 months.
