A force sensor is a type of sensor that measures the force applied on an object or system. It converts the mechanical force or pressure applied on it into an electrical signal that can be measured and analyzed for monitoring and control applications. Tension force sensors, Compression force sensors, tension and compression force sensors are the different types of force sensors. They are classified based on the type of force measured.
Load Cells is a type of transducer which converts force or weight into an electrical signal for monitoring & control applications. Load cells come in various form factors and typically have a strain gauge attached to it. When a force or weight is applied to an object or load, there is a deformation of the object which in-turn causes the strain gauge resistance to change. This change in resistance is converted to an electrical signal for monitoring & control applications
