Product Overview
The MAX14979EETX+ is a high bandwidth, ±15KV ESD protection LVDS switch in 36 pin TQFN package. This high speed passive switch provides LVDS signal routing for switchable graphics with extra ESD protection. It is optimized for high speed differential, low voltage differential signal (LVDS) and low voltage positive emitter coupled logic (LVPECL) switching applications. The MAX14979E provides enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection up to ±15KV per MIL-STD-883, method 3015 and excellent high frequency response. These features make this device especially useful for interfaces that must go to an outside connection. It provides extremely low capacitance (CON) as well as low resistance (RON) for low insertion loss and bandwidth up to 650MHz (1.3Gbps). In addition to the four pairs of double-pole/double-throw (DPDT) switches, the MAX14979E provides low frequency (up to 50MHz) and AUX switching that can be used for LED lighting or other applications.

- Off capacitance of 3.5pF and on-capacitance of 8pF at f = 1MHz
- Return loss of -23dB (100MHz), crosstalk of -50dB at f = 25MHz and -26dB at f = 125MHz
- Built-in AUX switches for switching indicators and bidirectional 8 to 16 multiplexer/demultiplexer
- Low quiescent current of 450μA (maximum)
- Propagation delay of 0.1ns (RS = RL = 50 ohm, unbalanced)
- 1.5ohm maximum on-resistance match between channels (TA=25°C) and 0.01ohm on-resistance flatness
- Off leakage current of ±1μA and on-leakage current of ±1μA
