Powertrain and Hybrid is all about power distribution and advance charging. It drives the wheels and charges the batteries. This is a rapidly expanding section thanks to the advances in the hybrid and electronic sectors

 | AC Input AC input is the plug for the Mains and converts the mains' AC to the batteries DC. This is where the power comes from to charge an electric or hybrid car. |  | DC motors Small low voltage DC motors are used to control locks and catches |
 | AC power regulators make sure the AC current is correct and corrects it or disconnects it if it isn't |  | mosfets are used to increase power but to a lesser amount than a power amplifier, e.g. For stepper motors or low power DC motors |
 | Power switches are high voltage and current switches to allow the AC input to be connected and disconnected safely by the system. |  | Motor drivers Motor drivers are used to give precise control of motors running off of a higher voltage/current than the MCU can safely provide. |
 | Thermistors are used to check the temperature of the batteries and power supply among other things |  | DC power regulators DC power regulators manage the power going into the batteries to prevent high voltage/current power from damaging the batteries and circuits |
 | MCU The MCU is in charge of controlling and moderating the entire charging process. All though none of the charging energy goes through the MCU it is still the single component with the most control. |  | Inductors Inductors are used the DC power regulator circuit |
 | RTCs are required to keep accurate timings. This ensures that all the systems in the car are in sync. |  | Capacitors Capacitors are used in the DC power regulator circuit |
 | Flash Flash is used as none-volatile memory to store programs and settings, and persistent data. | | Diodes Diodes are used in the DC power regulator circuit |
 | RAM RAM is quick access volatile memory used for variables, and storing temporary information. | | Resistors Resistors are used in the DC power regulator circuit |
 | Charging Controller The Charging controller is in charge of sensing the charge that is in the batteries and controlling the power input into them to prevent over charging |  | Batteries The batteries are often high end Lithium Polymer batteries to store maximum energy in minimum space and weight. |
 | Power amplifiers Power amplifiers are used to amplify analogue signals or boost current and voltage of a digital input. Used to power motors or amplify the output from thermistors. |
